Spring Meeting 2009 – Highlights

pccMore than 140 members of the greater Lehigh Valley Mailing community were in attendance at our spring meeting held on April 1, 2009.  The session’s opening remarks were given by Bill Raven, Industry Co-Chair for the LVPCC. Our first topic of discussion was an overview of district operations and the current state of the postal service given by Ed Burke, District Manager fo the Central Pennsylvania District (Eastern Region).

Peter Furka, Business Mailer Support Analyst,  delivered our next presentation on the 2009 Price Changes for Mailing and Shipping Services. He also gave our final general session presentation entitled Industry Changes, What all mailers need to know.

Following our main presentations, attendees were invited to join smaller roundtable discussion groups on Automated Mail, Address Management/Database, Non-Profit and Standard Mail and Package Services. These smaller groups gave our members the opportunity to ask any questions one-on-one with a member of the Postal Service or members of our local PCC. Don’t miss our fall meeting which will be held on October 29, 2009.

Growing Smaller

National Postal Forum (NPF) debuts Small Business Seminar

More than 6,000 people – representing small as well as large businesses – will find tools for success when they attend the National Postal Forum, May 17-20, in Washington, DC. That’s because for the first time, the Forum is offering a standalone seminar for small-business owners looking to use the mail to grow their business globally.

Small business owners can attend a special session on Sunday, May 17, for “Grow Your Business – A Small Business Perspective on How to Compete in the Emerging Marketplace.” The seminar will provide attendees the opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs at the Forum’s opening reception and to tour the National Postal Forum Exhibit Hall – without having to miss a day of work.

“The Postal Service understands these are challenging times for all businesses, particularly small business owners,” said Steve Kearney, senior vice president, Customer Relations. “This seminar arms small- and mid-size businesses with the tools they need to weather the current economy and achieve long-term business growth.”
